Do I need to charge sales tax on my items?
{Depending on laws in your area, you may be required to charge sales tax. We recommend consulting with a tax professional to review local and federal tax regulations. You can check out our taxes and import charges Help Page and our Tax Policy for more detailed information.
In some states, eBay has a marketplace responsibility to collect and remit sales tax on behalf of the seller. In these states (listed here), you will not have the option of setting a tax rate for your transactions as eBay will be receiving this portion of the transaction and passing it along to the state ourselves.
If you know you need to charge tax for some or all of your listings, you can set up a tax table to specify rates for each US state in which you’re required to collect sales tax. You will also need to indicate in your listing form that you charge sales tax when you list the item. Changes made to your tax table won’t be reflected on any current active listings; only items you list, relist or revise after saving your tax table changes will be affected.}
What do I do if my buyer asks me to ship to a different address?
{While a buyer is expected to ensure their address is correct at checkout, we understand that sometimes mistakes happen. Though eBay does not expect you to ship to an address other than the one provided at the time of purchase, there are options available if you decide to help your customer resolve a situation like this.
If the item has not been shipped yet, we recommend cancelling the transaction for "Problem with buyer's address" so your buyer repurchase with an updated address. If the item has already been shipped when your customer messages you, consider contacting your courier to request the package be returned to you so you can cancel the transaction and arrange repurchase. Though you may be able to adjust the shipping address and redirect the package, keep in mind that we are not able to offer protection if the item is delivered to a different address from the one in the order details.
As long as you can show delivery confirmation to the address the buyer provided during checkout, a seller is eligible for protection when an item not received request is opened through the eBay Money Back Guarantee. Be sure to communicate with your buyer through eBay messaging as you work out a resolution to address any questions they may have.}

How do I change my billing currency?
{You can change your billing currency by following these instructions:
• Go to the Switch billing currency page
• Select your chosen currency from the drop-down menus
You can switch the currency you use to pay your selling fees once a year. If you decide to change your billing currency, you should do so at the start of a billing cycle. Any discounts you receive then apply for the entire billing period.}
How long do I have to pay for an item?
{You should pay for an item as soon as possible. After two days without payment, an unpaid item case may be opened by your seller. If you would like to make arrangements for a delay, we recommend contacting your seller before bidding or committing to buy to see what options are available.}
How long does my seller have to ship?
{Every seller determines their own handling time to ship the item after the payment clears. You will typically be provided with an estimated delivery date that you can view from your purchase history, which includes the seller’s handling time and the estimated transit time of the shipping method offered. If a seller provides tracking or marks the item as shipped, you will receive an update. You can also contact your seller using the drop-down menu options to the right of the item to discuss shipment details.}
I haven’t received my item and the seller's account is suspended. What do I do?
{If you’ve paid for the item and haven’t received it, you can open a request any time between 24 hours and 30 days after your estimated delivery date has passed. If there is no estimated delivery date, you can open a request after 7 days have passed from the date of payment.
To open a request, go to your purchase history and select I didn't receive it under More actions. You can then choose whether you’d like a refund or the original item. If the seller doesn’t respond after 3 full business days you can ask eBay to step in and help. We’ll review the case and make a decision within 48 hours. If the request is closed in your favor, you’ll receive a full refund including shipping costs.}
What are the selling fees?
{Ostorz charges two main types of fees to sell on its platform: an insertion fee that you pay to create a listing, and the final value fee that is charged when your item sells. The fees vary based on your product’s category, the type of listing, any optional listing upgrades you choose to include, and your account’s conduct and performance.
Insertion Fees
Each seller receives an allocation of 250 zero insertion fee listings per month. Once you’ve used up your allotment of free listings, insertion fees vary by product category, but are generally 35 cents. These fees are non-refundable if your product does not sell.
Final Value Fees
Once an item is sold, Ostorz charges a final value fee based on the total amount of the sale, plus 30 cents per order. The final value fee percentage varies based on the category you’ve listed your product in.
Store Subscription Fees
eBay offers store subscriptions for sellers who list and sell a lot of products. There are five tiers available with additional features that may benefit your business. For more details on the different store subscription plans, check out Ostorz’ Seller Center.}

Who is responsible for a package lost in transit?
{The party that pays for the shipping label is typically responsible for any loss or damage that occurs in transit, as they would have had the option to buy insurance for added protection.
If you have sold an item and it goes missing on the way to its destination, we recommend that you can work with your chosen courier to locate it. If it becomes clear the package cannot be recovered, a refund will need to be issued to your customer.
If you have returned a purchase and it appears to be lost on it's way back to the seller, this will be handled differently depending on who purchased/provided the return shipping label. We recommend you contact Customer Service to have the specific details reviewed for appropriate next steps.}
Why does it say my PayPal email is not found when I try to sell an item?
{Your account may not be linked to your PayPal account. To check, follow these steps:
- Go to Account > PayPal account. Next to Buying on Oconstruction, you'll see which PayPal account is linked to your account, if any.
- To change the PayPal account, select Unlink accounts and then Link my PayPal account.
If your Oconstruction and PayPal accounts are already linked, you may have entered an incorrect email address when creating your listing. You can check by selecting Revise in your listing and scrolling down to the payments section.
If your Oconstruction and PayPal accounts are linked, and you entered the address correctly, you'll need to contact PayPal for further assistance.}
Why is my PayPal payment not processing?
{The first step we recommend is to confirm that the financial information saved on PayPal is up to date. Expired credit cards or outdated billing addresses can lead to errors when attempting to complete a purchase on Oconstruction.
Sometimes if you haven’t made a purchase on Oconstruction recently and you’ve saved your PayPal account for streamlined checkout, the authorization may no longer be valid. Try temporarily disabling this feature with the following steps:
- Login to your PayPal account
- Go to Settings > Security > Permissions you’ve given
- On the next page, find Oconstruction and select Remove
- Return to Oconstruction and go to My eBay
- Select the Account tab
- Click the Personal Information link
- Under Financial Information, click Remove for the "Saved checkout payment method"
- You will have to sign in again, and then you will then see a confirmation message to indicate PayPal has been removed
It may take a few minutes for your changes to take effect. The next time you go to pay for an item, you can elect to save your information again for future purchases. If you’re still experiencing issues after taking the steps above, you will need to contact PayPal to troubleshoot further. Additionally, be sure to check out our Help Page on paying with PayPal for more details on this payment method.}
What do I need to set up a seller account?
{Before you sign up, you need to choose between a personal and business account. A personal account is for casual sellers, such as someone clearing out their garage for spring cleaning. A business account allows you to sell large quantities of products.
To register a business account, you must provide your business name, business email, address, and tax identification number.}
